From the Desk of the Superintendent

To the USV Community,

It has been a great start to the school year.  I would like to thank all those that have worked so hard to get things started off on the right foot.

As many of you know one of our main focuses for the 2019/2020 school year is attendance.   With this said we are struggling with bus drivers and getting students to school on time. I can assure you that our current drivers, substitute drivers, Mr. Rolston and Mrs. Moore are working very hard and deserve to be commended for their efforts.

There is an end in sight.  Mr. Rolston is now approved as a substitute driver.  We have a fulltime driver starting on October 7, pending all paperwork is complete and returned for ODE.  There is another fulltime and substitute driver in training that should be completed by the end of October.  With all of the above mentioned drivers, the need to have late routes should be ending on or before October 7.  There still may be issues that arise on an individual day basis. But things in the transportation department should be getting back to normal.

Thanks to everyone for your patience and understanding during this difficult time.

 Thanks,

Craig M. Hurley

Superintendent
