Backpack Blessing

The 3rd annual Backpack Blessing for USV students will be hely on August 5,2017 from 9am to noon in the USV auditeria.  

Our goal is 230-250 supply-filled backpacks.  If you would like to donate money, backpacks or school supplies to this event, please message Cheryl Hurley, Connie Dyer or Connie Guyton by June 30.

Please note the following changes:
Two lines will form prior to beginning the event
      •Line 1 - USV students accompanied by one or more parent/grandparent/HS sibling. This line will begin give-away       process at 9 a.m.

      •Line 2 - Parent(s) of USV student(s) but student is not present at time of give-away. This line will begin give-away       process at 10 a.m.

This event made possible through the efforts of The Alger 1st United Methodist Church plus grant money and donations from businesses, organizations, churches and community members of Upper Scioto Valley Schools and surrounding area.
This year we are processing our Free & Reduced Lunch Applications online. This is a faster, easier, and more secure way to see if your child(ren) qualify for free or reduced price meals. Click on ‘Cafeteria” on the left side of this page, then click on the Online Free & Reduced Lunch Applications and Instructions link. The instructions will assist you when filling out the online application. YOU ONLY NEED TO FILL OUT 1 APPLICATION PER FAMILY. You will need the Student ID# for your child(ren) which you can obtain by calling the school at 419-757-3231. Once you have completed the application you will know immediately whether your child qualifies for free or reduced lunch and your information will be in the system. If you are on Direct Certification (Ohio Works First, SNAP) and have a 10-digit case #, you DO NOT need to fill out an application. Your child is automatically eligible. All children living in the household with a student who qualifies under Direct Certification are also eligible for free lunches. If you do not have access to a computer, but would like to complete the online application, our computer labs will be available as follows:
August 10th - 9 a.m.-7p.m.
August 12, 18, 19, 25, and 26th - 3:30 -4:30p.m.
ONLY If you are unable to complete the application online, you may request a paper application by calling or stopping by the school. We will be glad to send one home with your child.
